40lbs down, 75lbs to go!
Hi all. I have lost 40lbs so far on the 5 bite diet. I continue to fall off and get back on and fall off and get back on but it is still the only diet I have ever tried that worked and got weight off of me.
I am starting again today at 186lbs. I now take 10 bites a meal as it works better for me. The weight loss will be slower but that is ok as long as it comes off. If I ever feel the need I will reduce my bites but I will try never to increase them. My first goal I hope to hit in 2 months is 150lbs. At 150lbs I plan to do the following:
1. Add a daily green smoothie adding up to about 400 calories for health and energy (1/2lb greens, berries, bananas, peaches, mangoes, etc.)
2. Start crossfit 3 days a week, run 20-30 minutes 3 days a week.
My goal is to get lots of nutrients in and still be able to enjoy the foods I like and get lean. I think the best approach for health is to eat a little as possible to maintain a BMI of 18.5 and also exercise VERY HARD for short periods every day. So green smoothie= health, 20 bites of my favorite food = still enjoying food, crossfit= hard work for no more than 30mins.
I am glad there is a free forum. I paid to join the Dr's forum but this is better and free!

Welcome Sarah!!!! Congrats on the 40 lbs!!! How long did it take you to lose those 40? I can't seem to be 100% on this plan, I've been on it 12 weeks and I still have an off meal every couple of weeks or so but I'm still losing and not giving up. I'm sticking to this plan until the end

Re: 40lbs down, 75lbs to go!
Why do I waffle when NO OTHER DIET has ever worked for me. I mean, I found the diet of my dreams. Eat the foods I love...( and I mean really eat them, tacos, bacon cheese burgers, etc) and lose weight. My hungerstat sets in 2-4 days and I am good for weeks. I have read all the data and I really believe that the most important aspect of being healthy is being very lean. So why do I convince myself other weird diets are the way to go. I have been trying for days to be a RAW VEGAN. By noon I am starving. I remember one day on the 5 bite diet I looked at the clock at 7 pm and realized I had not had a single morsel of food. I have bananas and cashew butter and seaweed and avocados and 1600 hundred calories of fat, but I eat five bites of anything and I am happy. WHY DONT I JUST DO THIS. I didn't leave this diet because I could not maintain it, I left it because I was convinced it wasn't healthy. How stupid. It starts right now. 10 bites of dinner. I will do coffee with creamer and 20 bites a day until I get to that 150lb mark I spoke about earlier. Then I may incorporate a breakfast green smoothie just for energy and peace of mind.
For those that asked. I lost the first 40lbs in 5 weeks. 6-12lbs a week doing black coffee, tea, diet coke and 10 bites. What I choose now is much less restrictive. Cream in my coffee, twice as many bites, sugar free Popsicles. The one thing I dont do is eat more bites. I may chose to take in liquid calories but I never stretch my stomach.

its tough, those first few days are hard on us, so all we can do is keep trying and eventually it pays off
