Challenge Days Fifty One, Fifty Two, Fifty Three
Day Fifty-One
Meal One: Oatmeal (100 calories)
Meal Two: Free Meal! My first one in over a month. Habanero quarter pounder, fries, soda. (1400 calories)
Day Fifty-Two
Meal One: FiberOne Bar (150 calories)
Meal Two: FiberOne Bar (150 calories)
Day Fifty-Three
Meal One: Fast (0 calories)
Meal Two: Apple (100 calories)
Average Daily Calories: 604
On the downhill part of this challenge and feeling good. I haven't weighed in, of course, but had a nice moment a couple days ago. Ordered this jacket from Express in an XL
http://www.express.com/clothing/waffle+knit+toggle+front+cardigan/pro/0433712/cat1009
got it... and it's too big. So I need to exchange it for a large. I haven't worn a large in anything for a long time. Probably 18 years? So half my life ago. I figure I must be down 40-50 pounds at this point.

You're welcome, SW. I'm not someone who really responds much to much "motivational" words. But some of them resonate with me so I like to share them in case they work for anyone else. It's so easy to get unmotivated, it helps me to remind myself why I'm doing this at times. And these words can help. You need to put a log on the flames every now and then so the fire doesn't go out.

Yes, SW, the discipline line is a good one. It's definitely something I keep in mind when I'm tempted to go off the diet. I'm often tempted to order a pizza or go pig out on fast-food because I know it will alleviate my current hunger. But I just try to keep in mind that while that will solve a current "problem," it will just end up perpetuating a long-term problem.
I don't find dieting pleasant at all. But I'm always trying to re-frame the pain of dieting as something positive. And the best way I can do that is to tell myself it's temporary. And the stricter I am with the diet -- the harder it is to stay on it -- but the more temporary it is. So whenever I think "this sucks," I then think, "Good, the more it sucks the less time I'll have to do it."

Just a little less than one month less for me on this thing. Just in time to gain it all back over Thanksgiving and Christmas. (Kidding)
It will be fun to go home for the holidays and see some friends and family who haven't seen me since 60 or 70 (I'm guessing) pounds ago. They'll probably think I got my stomach stapled. A notion I will put to quick rest after my third helping of turkey and mashed potatoes and fourth slice of pie.

The more it sucks the less time I will have to do it...a great word Dasher! Thanks!
You are doing so well!
Come Thanksgiving you probably won't be able to put away as much food as you think b/c your stomach has shrunk so much! It will take a while to stretch it back out, but I know you won't do that!
Keep on going!!!!!

I had to poke a new hole in my belt today. I measured the distance from the hole I started in to the hole I poked today. I've lost 9 inches on my waist.

Re: Dasher's Check-In
I agree...I've been giving myself a non-food reward for every 5 pounds...various stuff like pedicures, new clothes, kitchen items, jewelry. I need some more incentives for exercising, though because I hate it so much!!! I can't seem to think of anything that will get me going. I know that weight loss itself should be the motivator, but I just hate it so much.

Day Seventy-Nine thru Eighty-One
4/5ths of the way there now. I'm definitely looking forward to ending this and stepping on a scale for curiosity's sake. At the same time part of me wants to just keep going. I think because once you've maintained a streak doing something, the natural inclination to want to keep that streak going. Even if it's something unpleasant. You could be like, "Hey, I haven't had a shower in a week!" and part of you is disgusted but the other part wonders how long you could keep it up for.
I'm leaving for Europe at the beginning of next month for work, that coincides right with the end of this experiment. I will try to not let my time away counteract all I've done these past few months. And there will definitely bet stats/pictures coming (probably when I return).
Day Seventy-Nine
Meal One: Pizza and soda (540 calories)
Meal Two: Protein Shake (260 calories)
Day Eighty
Meal One: Snickers (250 calories)
Meal Two: 3 chicken wings (240 calories)
Day Eighty-One
Meal One: Pasta Fagioli (400 calories)
Meal Two: Baked beans (260 calories)
Average Daily Calories: 585

Re: Dasher's Check-In
Hello all,
I haven't been able to update in a while. My work is taking me all over the place currently but I'm still following the plan and keeping track of everything on paper and will follow up here when things settle down. Thanks to everyone who supported me over these 100 days. I have a lot to show for the effort and will update you all soon.
