Well it looks like a journal is the way to go! I started the 5BD on friday april 25th- and have not waivered off plan. I am waiting to weigh till wed since i am a scale addict and my whole mood and demeaner depends on what the scale says! So I will post my results then . I understand the longer you go- the less hungry you will feel. I am looking forward to that! I already notice my face looks thinner, if you can believe that. I feel very much in control on this plan- and unlike other times in my life- I intend to see this through. The best part is eating whatever you want. Fabulous

Plus one piece bubblegum! (Dying for some sweetness)

I think because I am heavier it goes faster at first! I just entered menopause last year- and let me tell you losing weight has never been harder. That's why I'm soooo encouraged by this plan. It actually works!!!!

Looks like we have similar circumstances as far as loosing weight problems goes but we can do this. It is hard but also easy without all the counting this and that and limited food groups. Almost another day done.

Hey Tammy, congratulations!
I have a question for you-- could you describe the size of your bite? Im having a little problem with this, because I havent read the book. When you say 5 bites of hamburger -- is it half a standard Mcdonalds hamburger, or 2/3 or whole? Could you give me some idea? I appreciate your response

Hi maya- I have to be honest- my bites are fairly big. I make a quarter pound hamburger and eat all but about 3 bites. That's 5 bites worth. But I only put cheese and mayo on it- and I've been using sandwich thins just cuz I have tons of them! But really- if you stick to five bites only- I honestly don't think it matters - you need a decent enough bite to keep you happy-

I would imagine if you had a burger with ALL the trimmings - bacon lettuce tomato pickle etc- you would be forced to take a smaller bite because the burger is bigger. So you would probably only eat half at that point. But again- I really don't think it matters. Don't second guess yourself ! Take a decent bite and be happy. You don't want to restrict yourself to the point where your bites aren't satisfying so you end up taking 9 bites instead!

So I didn't weigh for the first four days- and was so happy when I did step on the scale yesterday. So I stupidly decide to get on the scale this morn- and I didn't lose anything! I shouldn't be surprised since I lost so much right away- but THIS is why I need to only weigh every few days- I don't want this to make me sad or alter my path. Which I won't let it!!!! I just hate that damn scale!! I can't let it control me- I can't let it decide my happiness. I FEEL so much better - I feel thinner- and I need to remember I won't lose weight every single day- there will be times when my body needs to adjust to what's happening.

Yay! Another pound gone this morn. Feeling very positive and really happy. I cant believe how in 6 days time this truly has changed my life. This is a no brainer. It is simple and easy. Everyone out there-honestly-if i can do this-you can too! I have tried it all and never made it. I know a lot of you have too. This is it. I want this to be the last diet i ever do.

Yesterday lunch- 5 bites chicken tenders ( my first restaurant trip on plan-was a bit worried- but it was great! Didn't want to go over-friend ate my leftovers! The freedom to choose ANYTHING on the menu was awesome. Such freedom

Sorry Ani33 i hadnt seen your message! I actually am getting a lot less hungry now. Not gone entirely- but when you feel so much better and so motivated- i just simply tell myself that more than 10 bites a day are not an option. I just make items that simple. There is no conflict of should i or shouldn't i- or one extra bite just won't hurt- i just don't make it an option. No matter how good the food is- or how i feel that i could eat 20 more bites-i just don't. Because the food will always be there-and i can have whatever i want at my next meal. And because of this rule- obviously snacking is completely out! And that helps more than anything!

Decided not to weigh this morn- cuz i will be disappointed if the scale doesn't move- so i will weigh tomorrow. Doing really good tho- feeling great and really positive. I know this is right for me. It gets easier with each passing day

More victory today! 14 pounds gone in 8 days. Amazing. Never felt so good and so in control. Weighing every few days is best so i dont get depressed! Being the scale ho that i am-haha- truly this a miracle- makes me want to continue to be "perfect on plan" or POP as some others call it. What motivation. Seriously. Eating what i love and dropping weight quickly. What more could you ask for?

I love POP living. We are the only ones that prevent ourselves from reaching our goals. I don't ever want to get to my goal date and say " I wish" I would have stayed on plan so that I could have done better. I want to maximize every day while I can. So I will be POP living as much as possible. Even for Mother's Day, I am thinking now how many bites I will allow myself beforehand so that. I can still be POP for that special day. But if forever reason I fall short, I will consider that a "learning" day and not beat myself up. But giving it my all, 110% or POP is what I will always strive for.  Like a Star @ heaven

Thanks Sexy! You are so right! We are our own worst enemy. I really feel hopeful for the first time maybe EVER! Having friends on here to talk to and share stories really helps. Everyone on here can relate to that"hopeless" feeling- like no matter what you do- nothing works for long- and its so easy to give up! I will not give up this time. No matter what- i will do this until i can wake up every day without self loathing- and be proud of who i am and feeling comfy in my own skin! Forage ahead! Happy Saturday!
