New beginner
10/23/2014 was the first day of my 5bite challenge.
I'm not trying to be unrealistic by getting down to 120's or
something crazy.
I am 5'7" and currently weigh 175. To lose 20 pounds would be
great for me.
I love water so no problem there. My meds make pop taste like crap
so no struggle anymore...
BUT, there has to be a big butt, only 5 bites of food twice a day and I
work 12 hour shifts right across from 3 fast food restaurants. Yikes!
Yesterday was a good start tho...
lunch...5 bites sausage biscuit
supper...5 bites mexican cornbread
tons of water and vitamin.

Good luck Jamaica
Once your hungerstat has been reset you won't care about those 3 fast food restaurants. Or you'll be able to go in, order something, eat 5 bites and be full!

Most important when you work hard make your bites protein. Keeps you full longer and your body has something to work with.

Headache
Wow what a pain in the head...
I left work at 630 in the morning and my head felt like it was going to split in two.
As for the eating, that was no problem.
I have lost 7 pounds since the 23rd but the headaches are terrible.
My Dr already has me on Topomax for stress headaches so
I'm assuming that the pain is simply from lack of food
and that I will get used to it?
Please tell me that this is the case.
I can truly believe that ppl can lose on this diet if you try. You do have to try tho.
It would be easy to stray off the path. Like I said, there are quite a few fast food places
right outside the window from the nursing home that I work at and the CNA's are constantly
leaving to go get fries and burgers. So far I haven't been tempted.
The goal to reach 160 just seems so much stronger to me which is a new feeling

How was the rest of your day Jamaica? I hope your headache went away and that you're feeling better.
Once you get through the first three days things should get easier for you.

Re: New beginner
Thank God the headache stopped after day two. I have lost 9 pounds so far guys/gals. This is the bomb!!!!
Yesterday my meals were pork roast, mashed potatoes and stuffing. I took 5 bites with each bite containing
roast potatoes and stuffing.
I havent been down into the 160's in over 8 years. I sat down and thought about it.
it has been 12 years since I saw the scale hit the 150's. I know that because it was shortly after I had my son who
is now 12...I felt so good at 152. Unfortunately it didnt last long at all.

Still dropping
I am now down to 162 and only have 2 pounds left to reach my main goal. I don't really want to stop there anymore.
Why can't I be smaller than a size 14? Why should I feel like I have to settle?
Before I thought that I could never get any smaller. 14 was the best that I could do. I don't really feel that way anymore.
It's a good feeling.
My waistline has gone down in the last two weeks from a 35 inch to a 33. I never really paid attention before. It just was
what it was.
Now, for some reason, I want to pay attention.
Well, thanks to all for all of the kind words. I really appreciate it. People can do things on their own but it is so much better
if you just don't have to.
Thanks again,
Lori

I'm so happy that you are choosing not to settle! And yes, your waistline is probably one of the most important measurements when it comes to health. To understand further, check your waist to height ratio. Supposedly, it's more reliable than a bmi when it comes to predicting health problems.
I look forward to reading more diary entries, and congrats on all the weight loss so far!

I am a 14 right now. I am much heavier than you but I carry my weight well. I like you wish to strive to be thinner and healthier.. Great job reaching your goal and making a new one!
