Yeah it does make sense and even though I've been on this diet 22 weeks now I do still miss breakfast, not that I'm hungry in the mornings I just miss something to get my day started so when I start maintenance (many months from now) I do plan on including breakfast again so we'll see how that works.

NYE Notes
NYE's celebration was wonderful so many good food lol!
I didn't have breakfast and had lunch & dinner but each more than 5 bites. I had around 15-20 bites. And it was so good!
On 1st January morning, breakfast was provided so..I had breakfast today. I notice my stomach is still on the flat side because I didn't have breakfast on Dec 31 morning.
Anyways I will begin the diet again on Jan 2, 2012.
Spryng, I think from the Doc's story..breakfast is the culprit. It just enhances your appetite. Even Dr.Lewis only has breakfast 1-2 times a month during his maintainance.
Everyone keep saying that dinner is making you gain weight. But now I realize that breakfast is the culprit.
I notice while being on 5BD months ago, I would sometimes attend late night meetings, dinners and cheat with extra 4-5 bites dinner/supper..and still drop weight.

I ballooned to 132 again!
Post NYE dinners and gatherings made me gain weight and become 132 lbs.
But after Jan 3,2012 I immediately get back on the 5BD wagon again. No breakfast at all. Strict 5Bites 2 times per day. I lost 6 lbs. I am now 126 lbs and first goal is 120 lbs. Second goal is 110 lbs.

Back on The Wagon 2012!!

I am currently ballooning up to 130 lbs!
Things got out of hand after Christmas New Year. I indulged in tasty foods, lots of invitations.
I am back on the wagon again..but since 2012 brings new work for me, new activities..so I have to manage my diet.
Plus, I kinda get scared of heart attack stories. A friend of a friend of mine got heart attack and passed away at 38 years old, she was a catwalk model and used to be on crash diets & strict diets all of her life.
I remember having lots of trapped wind in my stomach when doing strict 5bd 2x (no breakfast)..and feeling like fainting, in the middle of activities.
I think I have to do it slowly.
Doing 2x 5bites per day make me feel nauseaus and unable to focus to do my work.
So I will begin with 3x6-7 bites per day. I remember Doctor Lewis saying in his book, "no matter the bites, 5,6,7 or 8 but stay consistent with the same amount of bites!"
This means I might not lose as fast as when I am doing 2x 5bites..but I am trying. I will commit to get to 110 lbs and update my journey. On heavy workload days I will do 3x7 bites. On slow days, 2x5 bites.
Lets get going!

L : 10 bites noodles & cake
D : 7 bites rice with seafood/chicken

Valentine Goal
My goal this year is looking good for valentine's day.
Also to stay beautiful looking in my new office because everyone there is very appearance minded
I have to look my best everyday. I am doing it slowly but safely.

Hello Lyra. I have read your journal also. I remember Dr. Lewis saying the same thing, as far as it doesn't matter how many bites. It looks like you have a good plan. Good luck and I'm sure you will look and feel awesome by Valentine's Day. Let's do this together!

I've been busy, but I kept doing the 6-7bites 3x/day
And Doctor Lewis is correct..! No matter what bites, pick a number that's suitable and stick to it.
After doing 7bites 3x/day then slowly shifting to 6bites 3x/day..I am losing 3 lbs now
I started 130 lbs
Now I am 127 lbs
I feel more comfortable,more energy and can go on with my daily schedule without feeling sick/faint
Let's keep going!

Hello everyone..
I was very busy with work and being in a new office, with tight deadlines..eventually contributed to my waistline. So yeah..I gained weight again..because of late night munchies, chips and snacks I constantly take to keep me awake and focused while working on papers at office. I'm ready now to begin back on my diet..and I need support. Let's do this together.

woo hee it's been a looong time since posting & dieting
my job is very demanding and taking up long hours of my time..my diets went out the door
in 1 year i gained weight i'm 160lbs now!!
i'm going back to this forum, reading my old posts to find encouragement. i have been doing intermittent fasting (IF) for 1 month..previous weight was 166 lbs and now it's 160 lbs.
for the past 5 days i have been doing 24 hour fasts on Intermittent Fasting with NO weight loss. can u imagine how frustrating it is?
this is why I am going back to the 5BD again. because it's the only diet that works for me. After i reach my goal, will do maintainance with IF.
Starting weight today : 160 lbs
Let's keep going.

Hi Lyra,
I totally understand the frustration because I was stuck for several weeks at the same weight.
Maybe you've reached a plateau if your weight was 160 lbs for a long time (a few months at least).
I think it's good you're changing diets. This could help you lose again. Good luck to you!!!

I have never really lost weight fasting and I've done many different kinds. I think only men seem to well with IF for weight loss. Although, I agree it is a great strategy for maintenance and it is also very good for your body (anti-aging and health promoting). Good luck on your journey!
