New to this diet and will be starting tomorrow. I have been doing the 80 bites a day or less thing and plan on going back to that after I kick start my weight loss.

the 80 bite diet is pretty much the same concept but your allowed more bites. you can eat up to 25 bites per meal or up to 12 bites per snack, but you cant go over 80 bites a day. I dont usually go over 60 bite a day

oh ok, sounds like a good maintenance plan. although i don't know if i would be able to keep counting that many bites in my head, especially when eating with others. I have to be careful even on the 5bd bc sometimes i forget how many i've taken.

I was doing really well on the 80 bite diet, even losing weight since I was really eating about 50-60 bites a day and that was far less then I normally eat. Then we had a tropical storm in august and lost power for 6 days...since we knew it was a possibility we stocked up on junk food...and mixed with boredom I ate like crazy. I tried getting back on the bandwagon until Halloween when a freak snow storm knocked the power out for another 9 days. I have been struggling to stick to my bites ever since, so i figured this would be a great way to get a jump on the weight loss.

Welcome Lexi! I have the 80 bite diet app on my phone and use it to track my 5 bites, LOL I thought it would be a great maintenance plan for the 5 bite as well so I'm excited to meet someone who's used it!

Thank you! Yes, I am not hungry at all and I feel thinner. I know I only last a lb or so, but I don't have that heaviness feeling anymore.

that's great. i'm sure the other pounds will fall off quickly, sometimes our inches shrink faster than our weight's change

L-5 bites turkey Blt wrap
D-5 bites chicken burrito, diet coke
Starting weight- 194
Current weight-191
I did have a few altiods today without thinking. Then I felt guilty. But I went out to lunch with my mom and aunt and only had 5 bites of my wrap and took the rest home. I also went out to dinner with my hubby and was able to just eat my 5 bites. He ended up finishing meal.
I actually feel like I ate too much today, probably because of the altiods. But tomorrow is a new day.

I wouldn't worry too much about the altoids, I'm sure the calories in it are very very minimal so it's not gonna set you back
Your meals look great and that is awesome how well you are doing while eating out! That is usually tough for people but sounds like you are handling it perfectly! And yes my husband likes eating my extras on my plate too and I always have leftovers which is nice, cuts down on grocery costs too, LOL double bonus!

Don't worry about a slight gain. Are you weighing yourself daily or weekly? It helps if you designate one day out of the week to weigh in, that way you won't bog youself down with slight gains. I drove myseldf crazy in the beginning when I would get stuck on the same weight for a few days. It made me feel like I wanted to quit, like I was doing wasting my time by not seeing results quick enough. When I changed to the weekly weigh in I finally stopped beating myself up because even losing a couple of onces meant that I was doing something right.

Congratulations on your weight loss! That's a phenomenal first week.
And like Jesabelle said, don't worry about the minor fluctuations. Sometimes the cells of the body need to hold on to our fluids just a little while longer than at other times. The water from our beverages is doing important work inside us (getting rid of toxins, for example).
We've all just got to remember that when we eat 5 Bites, twice a day, there's No Way we're ingesting a whole pound of food. So where could a weight-rise on the scale show-up from? Well, the fat is definitely burning... the Doc shows us that in the book. It could be that we're emptying the fat cells so quickly that the inner H2o is having to stay in to keep the freshly burned gunk diluted for us to keep internal balance. Just my thinkin'.
Maybe try one extra 12 oz. glass of water after brushing your teeth at night. When your water reaches the proper levels, MORE can flush out. Remember, still, it's NOT the food. Your 5 Bites are working perfectly.

ok I need to get serious about my weight loss. So Starting this diet over.
