Inspiring Words Empty Inspiring Words

Since this section is for motivation and support, is it for when you need a pick me up?

Maybe some inspiring words, or motivational quotes would be helpful.

A quote form Dr. Alwin Lewis' book "Why Weight Around?"

"Without esception, every second of the day that you are not swallowing calories you are losing weight. Thus, keep your bites small, few, and infrequent, and let the process happen."

Thank you for posting it.
I read the book so long ago (friends had it) and I did forget!
It makes so much sense.

No problem. I also really like

"When you feel hungry, your body is pulling sugar from your fat. Great! Bring it on! Sit down, drink some water if you want and let the feeling pass."

"This diet gives you absolute control over your weight, so that you can choose to develop and maintain a physique that you never before thought possible."

I LOVE the quotes! I like the thought of hunger being your bodypulling sugar and fat out. I don't have the book, I only saw the interview that was online, so they are all new to me. Maybe if you have the time you can do a "quote of the week"

When I've been tempted to detour off the diet, I remember these words from Dr Lewis..

"Food is only memorable for the few minutes that it is sitting in front of you and for the shorter time it spends tantalizing your taste buds. Then it is quickly forgotten"

"People only eat for one of two reasons: either to taste a particular food or to satisfy their hunger"

Remembering these quotes slap me back to reality!

Inspiring Words Empty I like this quote

Post  Shawn on Wed May 05, 2010 10:52 am

Eating is enjoyable, and the larger the meal, the longer we escape from the pressures of life.
But being slim is more enjoyable. I ask you to please find some diversion other than food, and let this be your sanctuary. Pick up a novel, listen to your favorite music, or go for a walk. Eat your five bites quickly and deliberately, and then move on to some other pastime.

Shawn, that is so true. The one thing I feel like I've learned so far is that food is fuel. Eat it, and move on. I feel like the five bite diet has helped me release the grip food has had on me. When I feel like enjoying something, I do. But, all other times, I eat and move on. To people who have never had to think of losing weight, they just don't understand this. I cant wait untill I'm past all this, and don't have to think about it, either!

this is so true. food should not be used the way that we do. it should be a form of sustainability, not a way to snuggle and feel good.

i think ill invest in a huge fluffy blanket, along with it and a cup of tea, ill be good to go. cyclops

ha blankets really are awesome.
i've spent a lot of time studying over seas, and dude snuggling with a blanket entirely too big and to fluffy with ur jammies is the absolute best.
