Greeting Everyone. I plan to start the 5 bite diet on Thursday March 1, 2012.

Right now I am easing myself into the new lifestyle changes that will come March 1st.

For the next 3 days I will skip BF, and eat a small Lunch and a small dinner. This should help in my transition to The 5 bite diet on Thursday.

SW 245 lbs
CW 245 lbs

BF- Black Coffee
Lunch- Tofu Soup with rice, peas, carrots & corn = 300 calories (Vitamins)
Dinner- Tofu Soup with rice, peas, carrots & corn = 300 calories

I really hate changing starting dates. It was March 1st.
NOW it's March 5th Monday. Tomorrow!!!

May God help me.
I have a Dr. Appt on May 31st.
My goal is to have an improvement in all areas of my health.
Blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure etc.

I DON'T want the bypass surgery. I just want to be in control.

1st day and I failed. I feel like I underestimated my abilities.

Don't be too hard on yourself. I've also had many failed day 1 attempts. I think much of this is mental. Until I was able to make the mental shift, I could/would not stick to it. Hang in there and try again.

Thank you Insanity for your kind words.

Today is day 1 again . I'm remembering my downfall yesterday.
I'm trying to avoid them. I'm also trying to shrug off this arrogant
attitude that I have that this is a walk in the park. It's NOT.

I want this so badly. I want to know how it feels like to be thin. I've
always been heavy, the heavy one, the fat friend in the group,
the fat Sister. Now I'm not only fat, Im the one with high blood
pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes.

I don't want to go through another summer fat. If you have been fat
...you know what I mean. Trying to hide your body under clothing
And its so darn hot outside. I want to be Free!!!

Sorry for venting. Will update tonight.

You might want to start with 5 bites 3xs a day. I have read journals where they slowly weaned themselves off of breakfast. yo might want to try having 1 egg-either fried or scrambled-I think an egg is 3 bites, but it's something and then you can have your coffee. It might help you Smile When I first started I would have 2-3 cups of coffee. I had to start working out because I was so wired Smile

Get a couple days under your belt and it will get better for ya. Day one can be difficult keep trying.

Day 1 is very hard, for me day 1-5 was tough. I was so weak and hungry ALL day but what helped me was visual reminders. Do you have a droid smartphone? if so download the free app My Diet Coach, it has some awesome motivational tips you can look at when you feel weak in different categories like eating out, or hunger, or even diet slip ups etc, it was really really helpful to me in those first few days. If I felt like caving I would read some tips in there and they really helped. I also used some sticky notes and on each note I listed the top 5 reasons I wanted to lose weight, whatever will motivate you from managing your diabetes and being healthy to looking smoking hot in a bathing suit, lol whatever you would like to view. Then I hung them up all over my house, on my bathroom mirror, on my computer monitor, on the fridge, even on the inside cover of my Nook so when I wanted to read it would pop out and remind me yet again, oh yeah and on my pantry door. Also, yes I know I did a lot of weird things at the beginning, lol but they really worked! I also printed out some pics of outfits I would love to see myself in at goal, I got them straight from the victoria secret website, lol no not the lingerie even though I'd love to rock some bras and panties but more of their skinny jeans and hot tops, even those clingy sweaters I'd love to wear but never would because of my stomach pudge and I hung them up in different areas too. So anyway, between all of that it really kept me focused and my eye on the prize... I think it's hard for us sometimes to see past today.. to see past the hunger.. we feel hunger and we immediately want to fix the discomfort, but we need to learn too that hunger pangs is a good thing! Once our body realizes we aren't going to cave and feed it, or more likely overfeed it, it will turn to our fat stores and start using them for food which means weightloss! So the next time your stomach grumbles think of it as eating your fat, you give in and you stop the fat loss, maybe that will help too. But look towards the end, not today, not tomorrow.. but when you think you'll hit your goal. As the good doctor says, rip that dieting band aid off and just be done with the viscious cycle already of dieting.. make this the last diet you are ever on and to do that you just gotta suck it up and DO IT, no other way around it Smile I hope you are able to hop back on plan this time and do it with us! We've all been there those first tough days so we know your pain, let us encourage and inspire you to finish Smile

advice.

I was on my dinner break, had my 5 bites and I'm still hungry.
Went out to my car to find some motivation on the forum.
