I'll do Snickers too... starting today (once again ). I ate popcorn for the last 4 days and lost exactly 2 lbs but I need to change the menu for a few days.

Re: dmacs push to 150
You should be able to find those at any grocery store where they have the granola bars.
I have tried those and agree they do keep you feeling satisfied.
They aren't vegan, so they are out for me along with the Snickers, too. But the Snickers always upset my stomach anyway. I know you have had a lot of success with them and you have lost so much weight!!!! You have to do what works for you!
Thanks so much for your support Dmac! I'm hanging in there!

Re: dmacs push to 150
Happy new year to you all last night a friend of mine died of a brain aneurysm so sad to see someone everyone who knew loved so much die he was not very healthy he was over weight had diabetes and other weight related issues it seemed his wife always tried to stay in shape the best she could he didn't seem to concern himself with it as much they say the aneurysm was probably weight related this really makes me think that all this time dieting and focusing on dieting is all worth it even thou it sucks sometimes because it can add precious years of life and add quality to those years he was just under 50 years old
I keep thinking if he could gotten those extra lbs off I'd bet this wouldn't have happened all these people would not had lost their friend or father husband or grandfather I remember after I lost the majority of my weight seeing him and he complemented me and asked how I did it I told him at that time he was doing the workout eat right thing and had lost 20 or so himself so we talked allott that night about getting thin but he gained it back most of us know how easy it could be to go off track and not get back on track but I'm going to use this as motivation to stay on track

Re: dmacs push to 150
Hi Dmac, Happy New Year to you too.
I'm so sorry to read about your friend.
It most definitely puts things into perspective. I spend so much time being unhappy about my weight without really looking at the health risks of being overweight. Thank God I do not have any weight related illnesses, but it really is just a matter of time. Now it just seems selfish of me to keep staying this size and always gaining back what I lose, cause I essentially only think of myself, and never really consider my family if anything would happen to me if I continue on this path.

Re: dmacs push to 150
Dmac, I am so sorry about your friend. It saddens me deeply.
I appreciate the way you described how we should think about how being overweight is effecting our health. Our health really should be our utmost concern. Thank you so much for sharing that. I'm really going to take it to heart and try to focus more on health this year.
I wish you a Happy New Year and I really feel like 2014 is going to be our year!!!!!

Re: dmacs push to 150
Dmac how is your progress coming along? Is the station more for moral support or are you learning different tools to lose and maintain? What has been most insightful that you did not realize before jointing the slimming station?

Re: dmacs push to 150
its being accountable to Dr Lewis every week that you weigh in he sends you a message you can ask him questions anytime you need and he does a weekly chat he is very motivating and has a passion for weight loss I can't even explain . right now I'm five pounds from my goal 155 this morning and planning to reach my goal this week because I go on vacation the week after so wish me luck . but there's not a ton of activity on that site when I first started over there most my chats were one on one with Dr Lewis now there is a bit more activity this last month but for me it has been much easier ever since I signed up . I will try and get on here and catch up on what everyone is doing how is it going for you so far

Re: dmacs push to 150
I wish I could sign up. But I simply cannot do $50 a month right now.
Today is day 5 and it was rough. I was not exceptionally hungry, but I got caught in a school car pick-up line with what felt like a rush of loose bowels trying to move. I was sweating, nervous, and just petrified. I think I prayed more fervently during those very looooooooooong 30 minutes than I have in a long time. I knew if I tried to go inside the school to use their facilities, by the time they officially checked me in they would be calling for the janitor. Then if any leaked in the car the teacher who escorts my child to the car would probably get a whiff of the leak. I had a bit of air freshner left in my purse but I don't think it would have been enough to mask the impending disaster. I held tight. I smiled and told the teacher thanks and literally sped home to safety. M
Other than that episode, I feel ok on plan. I wish I had access to the book so I could read what Dr Lewis says about exercise. And am also curious on his take of sugar free gum.
But this forum, fellow new 5biters and veterans like you, Dmac, even your older post are proving to be priceless. So thanks for taking the time to contribute!!

Re: dmacs push to 150
Dr Lewis says sugar free gum is OK exercise is OK but can make you hungrier but as long as you keep your hunger stat really set should be ok but definitely not necessary for weight loss
