Totally...Richard Simmons.
That would have been a great name though...maybe we can help you think of another one.

Challenge Day Thirty and Thirty-One
Day Thirty
Meal One: Protein Shake (260 calories)
Meal Two: Protein Shake (260 calories)
Day Thirty-One

30% of the way there.
Although I'm not weighing in, I've definitely lost at least 30 pounds so far. I know this because I'm fitting into clothes that I last fit into when I was around that weight.

Thanks SW and EB for your continued support. Sometimes it seems like the average lifespan for someone on this board is about 2.5 days, but you two always keep up the fight and I'm glad to have a couple people to be held accountable to.
40 days in. At this point I can't really tell if I'm never hungry or if I'm just always hungry and I've gotten used to it.
I do know that when I think about how much food people eat generally that it's hard for me to believe. Like the idea of getting up in the morning and having a big meal, and then having another big meal just a few hours later. That seems crazy.
I'm already thinking about maintenance. When this 100 days is up I expect to be near a weight that I'm satisfied with. I may have another 10 to 20 pounds to lose after this, but eventually I plan to get to a weight that seems right. After that I'm going to use the 5-bite-diet as maintenance. Not every day, but just as a threat really. Everyday I'll wake up, step on the scale and if I'm below my goal weight, then there will be no rules in place as far as eating goes, if I'm above then I'll do the 5bd for that day. Just keep it simple. Like a thermostat. If I'm below my weight, turn-off; if I'm above, turn on.

Re: Dasher's Check-In
I agree with what you said about the amount that people eat all the time...it's ridiculous! Here in the South it is pure insanity! Portion control is the key for sure! I love your maintenance plan. I think it's a really good one and it will work if you are diligent...just like anything! Diligence.
Debbie and I have been committed to these boards and have seen a lot of good people come and go and sometimes come back again and we're still here! We're still hanging on...not quitting no matter what! We're here to support you!

Hello ladies,
This was a weird few days in that I drew 4 "slice of pizza" cards over the course of three days. It's been interesting tracking the cards and the randomness of the meals that come. For example, I got 6 of my 1400 calorie "cheat meal" cards in the first ten days. But I haven't gotten one since. And now the pizza barrage. Well, there are worse foods to have to eat 4 times over three days. Especially when you live in NYC and there are great pizza places on every other corner.

Re: Dasher's Check-In
I love pizza! If I come to NYC, would they make me a veggie pizza w/ no cheese or would they be weird about it? Down here, you just have say it a few times...they are like "no cheese" and I'm like "no cheese" and it usually comes out just right. If I lived there I'd probably eat pizza every day! Can you get good Mexican food there? Here we have pretty authentic Mexican but using American ingredients (like for the meats, I mean). But I don't eat meat anymore so I don't have to worry about that!
You're doing great! Keep up the great work. It's like you said the time will pass anyway...may as well be on plan and lose some weight!!!

Challenge Day Forty-Seven
You could absolutely get a veggie pizza with no cheese here, but there are so many great vegetarian/vegan restaurants around here that you'll probably want to check them out. In fact if you're ever visiting NY drop me a line and dinner is on me. In fact everyone should come to NYC in the late fall. It's the best time of the year. Let's all celebrate our weight loss together!
Yes there is great mexican around me. I live in an area of Brooklyn that has great ethnic food. I'm half a block away from brooklyn's chinatown, and then a couple of blocks in the opposite direction is a mexican area with a lot of authentic mexican food (who knew tons of cheese and sour cream weren't authentic?).
I definitely miss all the great food of this city. But every time I crave something I write it down. Eventually I'll have it, just not now.

Re: Dasher's Check-In
NYC sounds fantastic for food! We only have one vegan restaurant here and the menu is just full of vegan junk food, not whole foods. I haven't even been there yet. I was going to wait until I lose all my weight or at least the majority of it before trying it out!
You are doing so well! I can't wait to see your final results and I hope you have been journaling and keeping good records because you could write a best selling book with your diet plan. I love your idea of writing down foods you are craving and know that you can have them later. Fabulous idea!
