back again!
lost some weight on this before, lost some inches since then due to exercise, and am back to lose some more weight and inches.
yesterday was kind of a soft introduction back into the swing of things. no breakfast, coffee with nonfat milk and sugar. lunch was a jimmy dean breakfast sandwich and dinner was a fruit turnover. i didn't count bites, but i limited things. i also read the book for the first time yesterday, and it is so very worth reading!
today though, no sugar or milk in my coffee. and 5 bites for lunch, 5 bites for dinner. and i'm keeping things as boring as possible. no special recipes, etc. from reading his book, i've realized that all i need during this thing is three things:
so yeah, pop tart at lunch and a pop tart at dinner. i'll keep to pop tarts for a week. the week after, i'll change to another simple meal, like mini burgers or something.
i didn't weigh myself this morning, and i've already drank water and coffee, so the measurement is off: 139.8lbs. i'm 5'7.5" (had a physical, taller than i realized!).
my goal for this is 120lbs.
again, today's plan:
-breakfast: coffee, black, sugar-free sweetener
-lunch: brown sugar pop tart (5 bites of it, no more)
-dinner: brown sugar pop tart (5 bites of it, no more)
-unlimited amounts of water, tea, coffee, sugar-free drinks

GoodLuck to you.. I have started this diet again today. Last time I lost 18 pounds on this diet, now I am aiming for 30 pounds. Lets do it together.

day 3
third day has gone well
5 bites of a protein bar for lunch (perfect size! exactly 5 bites!)
5 bites of half of a panera bread steak and cheese sandwich (about half of that half!)
i love how much easier it is to just limit to 5 bites.
oh yeah, and no pop tarts today due to social things (dinner with a friend) and choice (rather eat a protein bar than a pop tart).

really, i do.
my lunch extended into my dinner. i did what dr. lewis suggested and packed more than 10 bites. i packed a handmade granola bar and some parmesan cheese.
5 bites of it for lunch
and the rest of it for dinner (ended up being 5 bites)
i also realized just how pointless big bites are. we take big bites to get a bigger flavor, to get more enjoyment out of the food. but, the flavor is the same whether the bite is tiny, normal-sized, or humongous. so, why not just take normal bites?
i didn't wait until 5 to eat dinner. and not because i was hungry, but because i was annoyed that i had to eat again. eating legitimately felt like a chore at that moment. so, instead of the full 5 hours after lunch, i ate at about 4:45. i just wanted to get it over with so i could do other things with my day. there's so much more to life than eating food.

Right, I am feeling so comfortable with 5 bite diet. I don't feel weak at all. As you said its just the urge to finish dinner makes us eat but not b'cos we are hungry.
Good to see you lose. Its very tough to lose last few pounds. Keep posting from the book, really useful.

This quote made me stick to only 5 bites today. I am not hungry but I just have the urge to eat something even after 5 days on this diet. I realized it is b'cos I did not stick to 5 bite. Let me follow this diet strictly for next 3 days and see.

Can you tell me why you are taking vitamin C and Zinc in addition to multivitamin. Doesn't multivitamin cover all the vitamins needed per day?

not all multivitamins are equal. i always check the nutrition facts of a multi. mine doesn't provide much zinc. most don't. periodically taking zinc aids my immune system. same with vit c. the zinc especially helped a cold finally go away.

a bit of a slow down, but that's fine.
i can't even remember what i ate today. but everything was 5 bites.
oh yeah, 5 bites of a protein bar for lunch and 5 bites of 2 pickled eggs and a pastry.

yah, sometimes our system really slows down, but on an average if we lose a pound per day its good enough.

today's morning weigh-in is 130.8lbs, but better than that are my measurements:
about an inch gone from my hips
almost an inch from each calve
about 1.5 in from my waist
an inch from my belly button area
.5 in from my bust
and i'm significantly smaller since certain non-stretchable clothes (like t shirts) are fitting me much differently!
today's morning weigh-in is 130.8lbs, but better than that are my measurements:
