Welcome and happy starting. Don't want to spoil your party but no liquids with calories during this diet. Count bites not calories makes it so much easier.

Re: Little Miss loses fat forever!
Hahaha, Yeah Daani, like i said, I hadn't planned on starting yesterday.
I'm still totally counting that as a successful day. I convince myself so easily that I've screwed up my diet that I should just break it and start again the next day, week or Monday. But instead of doing that over a minimal amount of liquid calories and giving myself permission to eat freely at dinner time and consuming 40, 50 or 60 bites i only ate the 5 bites per meal. I am learning that I cannot let my one little slip up screw up all of my hard work. It is good that there are hard and fast rules for following whatever diet/5BD, but we're only human and imperfect.
And like Dr Lewis says in the book on page 70 'if drinking calorie free coffee is the only deterrent keeping you from complying with this this diet, then by all means add cream and sugar to your coffee.'

Day 2
BF: black coffee with cream
L: 5 bites lowcarb lasagne. Multivitamin.
D: 3 bites chicken, 1 bite tomato, 1 square chocolate
MOTIVATION: 100%
Feeling fabulous. My hungerstat is setting very quickly for the first time ever.
I already feel thinner, but have resisted weighing myself daily for 2 days in a row.
Summer is coming to Queensland, so I've been drinking lots of water and staying well hydrated.

Day 3
BF: black coffee with cream
L: 5 bites ham, cheese, cucumber, tomato rollup. Multivitamin. 2 Vitamin C
D: 4 bites ham, cheese, avocado, tomato. 1 square chocolate
MOTIVATION: 110%
I actually thought today was day 2. This has been a very easy 3 day "induction". Maybe the coffee and cream is helping me. And I'm pretty sure not obsessing about what the scales say on a daily basis is doing wonders for my mental health. I know there might be hard days in the future, but I'll jump off that bridge when i get to it
I started actively trying to lose weight about a month ago, and i had managed to lose 6kg by cutting out all types of grains. And I am sticking to that cos it's what works best for my T2 diabetes. But when I came across Dr Lewis' book when i was cleaning I knew i could ramp up the weight loss were I to do 5BD.
So it is nice to be feeling lighter and getting compliments from people.

That's true. If coffee with cream and sugar is all that stops you then add it. I mean there is always splenda or truvia amd that has no calories. You seem to do good. Be proud of yourself for every day you go to bed and you managed to stick with it.

Re: Little Miss loses fat forever!
It's probably not diet related, but i had a weird episode before i went to bed last night. I felt all woozy, dizzy, nauseous and was shaking all over. Thankfully i fell asleep pretty quickly, and i woke up feeling fine. But I am taking it easy today.
So i caught up with my friend that had weight loss surgery in July. She has lost 23kg and looks great. However, she had no real insights or tips for me, in fact i had more for her. She is no longer able to eat certain foods she used to love, but we can still eat it all. I was also amused when I saw her eat her lunch she said 'that's enough', took three more bites, and then 'oh no, now I feel ready to throw up'. So as most WLS forums say, bariatric surgery is just a tool, it's certainly not a miracle cure.
I told her what I am doing, she seemed supportive, then gave me 3 bags of her too big clothes, which will be too big for me next winter. I will only have to wait a couple of weeks until I fit the pants, so I've got some new clothes for this summer.
Speaking of summer, the weather report has been saying we're going thru a heatwave right now, hottest October in a long time, blah blah. I have always suffered in the heat, and this week I have barely felt it. I must have a lost some of my insulation
I'm going to make a meatloaf so I can have that for lunch and dinner.
@Daani. I'm not adding sugar, just the cream. I've spent this past year training myself to drink coffee with no sweetener. That way I can really taste the coffee
Hope all the other 5Biters have a great day

Day 7
Wow, I'm so proud of myself that I have managed to stick to the 5BD for one whole week! And I didn't rely on snickers bars like I thought I would.
BF: nothing
L: 3 bites avocado, 2 bites bacon. Multivitamin. Vitamin C
D: 3 bites steak, 1 bite bacon, 1 bite avocado. Coffee with cream.
Drank water.
I took a progress photo for the one month since I stopped eating all grains, and the difference is amazing, even if I do say so myself. My butt is was down, I've lost about 1 chin, and my belly is smaller too
So even if I don't like the number the scale gives me tomorrow, I have visual evidence that things are going well:)

Numbers are not everything. Your profile, when you look in the mirror tells the picture. Be proud of yourself. You can get this. I will get back in on Sunday.

Re: Little Miss loses fat forever!
I just think I'm so freaking clever. And every single time, I prove I'm not.
Had my weigh in last Friday, saw a 3kg loss, thought I'd just eat normal for that day.
Fast forward 7 days and I'm still eating more than 5 bites per meal.
There is no breakfast and no grains, but COME ON!!! Time to get myself back on the horse!
I can thankfully report I have seen no gains in this week though, so thank goddess for that!

You can try a veggie or green party with fruit bear. It is not necessary to do party with alcohol only....
