Re: Kayla's 5 Bite Journey :)
Well the message went through but the screen is still jumbled...I guess I will have to deal with it lol
Anyways today I started the 5BD and so far so good. I drank a cup of coffee with half a scoop of protein powder in it. It sounds like a nasty combination but it is very effective. It sweetens the coffee and gives it a creamy look and texture. The protein powder I use is Isoflex (this one is Peanut butter Chocolate flavored) and it is sugar and aspartame free and contains 27g of protein per scoop at 118 calories per scoop. As well as my 5 bites 2x a day I will be adding one scoop (max) of the protein powder because it does keep me full between bites. I split the scoop into 2 so that I can have half a scoop with my morning coffee and the other half after dinner to tide me over for the rest of the night.
Some information about me: I am 22 years old and I'm in my last year of university (in Teacher's college actually). Currently I am 235.7 pounds and I am looking to get down to 130-140, but that can change depending on how I look or how comfortable I am in my body. Dr. Lewis would like me to be 108 pounds, but the last time I was 108 was when I was Grade 5 or 6 LOL. So we'll see. My family doctor, who has for the past 4 years been telling me to lose weight, even told me that the BMI standards and healthy weight standards have changed over the years. When I told her another doctor (Dr. Lewis) suggested I be 108 so told me not to even think about it because I would be too thin for my frame. So like I said, we'll see lol.
I'm going to be taking this day by day. I do struggle with binge eating so every time I feel that urge I will drink something hot, like bouillion or something. I also keep a rubber band on my hand that I snap whenever I want to binge...lol I'm a part of my own pavlovian device Well I guess thats enough chit chat for now, but I will be coming on here frequently to post and to read other's posts. I see there is some action on this forum, I hope it stays that way!
Happy biting!

Kayla, good luck! Just do one day at a time. If you mess up, jump right back on the wagon at the next opportunity! Keep us updated on your progress!

Re: Kayla's 5 Bite Journey :)
Thank you for writing! Unfortunately the reason I haven't been so diligent writing is because I failed...miserably LOL. Well like you said, I just need to get back on the saddle. I will be starting again, I am just waiting on my potassium order to get to the pharmacy. It should be there on Thursday, if there are no issues. I tried a brief stint with the Dr. B diet and lemme tell you..I failed at that too! I think the reason why I failed with Dr. B is because he is restricting the food I can eat which is not a very good thing for a binge eater. So I think 5 Bite is better for me because I can at least eat what I want.
Anyways, I would chat more but I am working on one (of many) assignments...boo Teacher's College! LOL

Hi, welcome! I've been on here for ....forever...but, I stop for awhile every now and again and take a month or two off, and then come back. I also have a larger goal than alot of the people here- 75-80 pounds, and I'm at 50ish. It can be done, you just have to keep going back to 5 bite at the next meal every time you overeat, and make sure one bad meal doesnt turn into a week long binge, and you'll do fine! Good luck!

These words are the advice I also need. Very inspiring. Thanks for posting this! I will use this method whenever I fall off wagon.3jaysmom wrote: It can be done, you just have to keep going back to 5 bite at the next meal every time you overeat, and make sure one bad meal doesnt turn into a week long binge, and you'll do fine!
