Re: Spryng into my journey with me
OK, I hadn't read your journal yet and I asked on another journal how much you weighed so strike that! Anyways, you are the bomb! Thanks for being so forthright and honest and encouraging! Thanks for your discipline in reaching your goal!
Now, that said, wanna race to 149?

Re: Spryng into my journey with me
OMG! I just had to peek at the scale this morning, I'm so close to leaving the 150's that I just had to look and guess what??? I'm at 149.6 today!!!!!!! I had a WHOOSH moment on this diet, 1.6 lbs gone overnight, awesome!!!! Its been over 5 years since I've been in the 140's... I'm so psyched right now! I'm not counting this as any official weigh in but I just needed to share! Connie lets race to 139 now, LOL we are gonna be there before we know it!!! Maybe it just took my body 10 weeks to figure out what I'm doing and is finally giving in! I may have a 3+ lbs week this week if I'm lucky, I'm so excited at the prospect!
Today we are thinking about taking the kids to a new park to try, there is one north of us with some really amazing walking trails etc so maybe I'll take a nice long walk. I'll be back later to post my meals for today

he's actually finding it very easy! He wishes now he started when I did, LOL but the normal fisrt 3-4 day hump of feeling ravenous, weak, foggy headed etc he isn't experiancing at all! lucky guy, LOL he feels hungry but not ravenous, he just has to get over his late night need for snacking which the past 3 days he hasn't had an issue for at all. So I'm very proud of him

Re: Spryng into my journey with me
Day 72 is coming to an end....
B-nothing
L-5 bites chicken quesadilla
D- 5 bites shrimp/crab stuffed salmon
Today feels so much better than yesterday...more energy, slept better.. whew! I needed that extra energy. I actually stayed up late reading blogs on maintenance.. makes me so nervous to think how hard it is to maintain! But I rather be realistic and prepared this time around instead of going into it blindly. I know I don't have to worry about for another 5 months or so but still, its on my mind and I like to be informed, LOL
For those of you that have hit goal then gained again, what would you do differently this time to keep the weight off??
For me I have never actually hit my goal.. I would get within 5-10 lbs but never actually HIT it. This time I plan to go all the way and experience maintenance in the fullest sense. I can't wait, so ready for something other than just losing...I've been losing for 13 years, I'm ready to maintain.. of course once I hit goal, LOL so 5 months from now according to my weightloss chart.

Re: Spryng into my journey with me
your doing great spryng
are you reading blogs on maintenance on this site or other ones? have you learnt anything useful?
Yeah the lowest i have been is 113, my goal is 110. i regained weight actually quite slowly, first it crept up to 116 when i went on holiday and ate heaps and heaps! donuts, ice cream, fast food the lot! i then got up to my start weight which was 128.8 when i started working in office full time and was surrounded by food all the time and just not moving as much as i used to. however it did take me from january to now to gain all the weight.
I definately ate ALOT during this time as well so not suprised that i gained it all back and didn't even try to maintain really. i big mistake i made was actually trying to do a 'healthy diet plan' where i would follow the plan but then eating chocolate and takeaways whenever i had a slip.
what i would do differently this time is incorporate 5 bite into my maintenance programme. i have been thinking of 2 ways to do this:
1. doing 5 bites however many times a week strictly and then doing rest of the days normal to keep my weight maintained (i.e. 4 days on, 3 days off)
2. increasing my bites each day until i maintain.
LOL sorry for blabing on in your journal spryng! have you had any plans on how you would maintain

Re: Spryng into my journey with me
No don't be sorry, that is exactly why I asked. I wanted to see what others thought about maintenance and what they would do differently this time around so it was perfect thanks!
For me I'm kinda thinking like you, either do 5 bites religiously during the week and taking sat and sun off each week or just including a 5 bite breakfast and increasing my bites until my weight is stable and not taking any days off. I'm sure when I get there I'll be trying both out but I also know the scale will need to play a big part in it. Like never forgetting two weigh weekly and if I'm up more than 2lbs to cut back right away and not put it off. I know too when I get really close to goal or at goal I'm going to be including more exercise to tone up so that should help with maintenance as well. So it's all talk right now but I am so excited and 5 months really isn't that far away! it will be here before I know it

Re: Spryng into my journey with me
yeah that sounds good i think it will be a trial and error for sure of what fits best and is easier to do whilst maintaining. also i think it would be good to just do 5 bite normally when you eating at home etc and then just having whatever when you go out for parties, dinners etc. thats how one of my mum's friend's used to maintain her figure. she used to eat very little when home/at work and eat whatever she wanted when she went out to dinner with friends/partys.
yay i can't wait until we all reach goal together!

Re: Spryng into my journey with me
For me maintenance was harder then the diet as soon as I would give myself a little freedom I just wanted more so my plan is to add very slowly and I know I'll jump up in wait and will have to 5 bite my way back to goal but I plan to watch my weight very closely but I'm exicited to give it a go again and I will watch it more closely this time around

Re: Spryng into my journey with me
For those of you looking at your future maintenance (THAT'S OUTSTANDING) I wonder have you heard of the iphone and android app "80Bites"?
I know on android it is $0.99 and it's a nice way to track how many bites you take in the whole day and encourages people to stay under 80. I wonder if that would be helpful to anyone after the 5BD?

Re: Spryng into my journey with me
thanks for the app idea Shanni! I just downloaded it! I've been looking for something like that for awhile now! For some reason if I'm eating with other people and talking etc I tend to lose count of my bites so I've been using a metal tally counter but it's kinda loud so this is the perfect alternative!! Will be fantastic for maintenance as well! Woo Hoo! I'm excited, LOL
Day 73 coming to an end:
B-nothing
L- 5 bites chicken quesadilla
D- 5 bites steak fingers with gravy
Halfway through the week... it's dragging for sure. It stormed all night which kept me up so I'm so tired today. Can't wait for bedtime! LOL

Well I'm trying to make an appointment to see a gastroenterologist.. I've been having stomach issues for over a year now. I've done well self medicating and cutting certain foods out of my diet (like grease and alcohol) or using antacids etc to keep my symptoms at bay but now it seems no matter how little I eat or what I eat they are back. I've been getting sick every night, feel sick to my stomach after my 5 bite meals etc so its time I see a specialist. I'm just worried they might critque my diet or want me to stop or something. Of course I don't plan on telling them if it's not relevant to my diagnosis. But anyway, just wanted to vent about it here. I have no idea how long it will take me to get an appointment but it's on my mind. I'm kinda worried. But until then, on with the 5 bites
