Mo's Journal
okay....FINALLY starting this journal!
i have completely gotten off track...got really sick a couple of weeks ago and got off track...then had way too much to drink this weekend and ate everything in sight. what's a girl to do? get right back on the diet ASAP. I was doing great with the weight loss and had lost about 4 or 5 pounds before I fell off the wagon. Hopefully keeping track of what i eat and my weight here will help! and i think i've learned that i will have to cut out drinking for now .
be back tomorrow to report.

Re: Mo's Journal
If you are consistent with the 5 bites you can still drink and lose weight. You won't need to drink near as much or else you'll get totally bombed! There are some days that my treat for only taking the 5 bites is a drink at night. Good luck and great job getting back on track!

Re: Mo's Journal
It has really been strange for me...sometimes I will get on a streak like 14+ days and I start thinking I could do this forever...then as quick as I think that, I take a turn and start eating too much, then it takes me days to get back on track. So I guess I would have to say, some days are better than others. We're here to support you and the key is to be as consistent as possible. Have you read the book? It is awesome!

Re: Mo's Journal
yes, i have the book and am trying to read something out of it everyday for support. i know what you mean - sometimes i go a few days and think this is great and can do this forever, too...then i fall off the wagon and it takes me forever to get started again and stick to it...maybe i need to remind myself how much harder it is to start over every time.
today was okay:
b- coffee
l-lean pocket
d-lean pocket
then, i got so hungry just a little while ago that i ate a few chips and a bite of a cliff bar...it's so frustrating that i can't just say no to the hunger! however, what i am trying to focus on is that what i ate today is still WAY LESS than what i normally would have eaten and hopefully each day will get better.

It takes some time to get used to this and you're right about you are still eating wayyyyyyyy less than you were before! Don't beat yourself up for eating a few extra bites, your body is adjusting to this new way of eat and with consistency it will get easier.

l-lean pocket
bite of chocolate
another bite of chocolate
bite of chips
another bite of chocolate

...you can see where this is going and i'll spare you guys the gory details...i have to learn to say no because once i start i can't seem to stop. the funny thing is i wasn't even hungry. i just wanted the food. it's like my stomach understands this but my mind doesn't.
here's to tomorrow!

Re: Mo's Journal
It seems like -everyone- starts, falls off the wagon, then gets back on, to some extent. No matter what the doc says, even though I have plenty of stored fat, I think it's just plain hard for me to maintain such a low calorie intake. Maybe our bodies just don't want to give up/use up the stored energy?
Let's keep on trying. Nice job getting right back on. Oh, and Clif bars are the best! That's a great idea for a meal.

Re: Mo's Journal
Good job sticking with it this week. I also struggle during the weekend, I have more time to notice how hungry I am. Just think about how much better the results are when you stick to the plan every day. Particularly during the weekend, if I find my thoughts turning to food and wanting to eat something, I consciously think about something else. It really helps.
