Restart after cruise:

Day 00 = (-0.0) = 00.0 lbs lost. Current Weight: 190.7,

The cruise was awesome! But I undid 3 weeks of hard work in one week off plan. It will be okay...I know what to do...but you know that when you restart this diet the first day is brutal and you really, really, really don't want to do it, you just want to eat!

So, I gained exactly 11 pounds. I'm hoping 5 pounds are water, maybe 1 pound of waste, and only an actual 5 pound of true gain. I did not drink my water at all while on vacation, so I'm pushing a lot of water today. I'm going to go with lots of vegetables and remember what Dr. Lewis said about one bite of protein per day. I don't think I'm ready for that yet, but I think I can do 1 bite of protein per 5 bite meal. Wish me luck! : )))))

l- 3 bites salad, 1 bite waffle fries, 1 bite chicken nuggets
d- 5 bites pepperoni pizza

Welcome back!! and yes, those 11 lbs are NO WAY all fat, it's mostly just retention I'm sure and will flush out in a couple days. I know I gained 9 lbs on my vacation a few months ago and about 4 of that was real weight, the rest flushed out within the first week back so you'll be back on track in no time Smile

The cruise was amazing...Disney Cruise to Nassau and Castaway Cay...I used 30 SPF sunscreen and still came back with tan lines. The weather was perfect and the ocean was warm...I did not want to come back!

b- coffee w/chocolate creamer
l- 5 bites Special K Red Berries
d- 2 bites raw broccoli, 3 bites baby carrots w/ hummus and ranch dip

I had a bad eating day on Sunday, so I'm just not posting weight today...hoping to be d-o-w-n tomorrow. We went out to lunch with our Sunday school class to a Mexican restaurant. Mexican is my trigger big time! I still can't find the discipline to behave in social settings like that so I'm now trying to be extra good all the rest of the time and just enjoy those social situations.

The cruise sounds fun. I have this insane fear on taking a cruise myself. I mean I can handle plane and ferry boat ride but not big ships. Too much watching and reading about Titanic Laughing

Social eating is one hard battle to fight, but you can do it. I slipped from time to time too but I make sure I go back to 5 bites the next meal Very Happy

Thanks so much for the encouragement! I have been really busy the last couple of days and have not posted like normal. Here is my updated post-cruise restart weight loss:

Day 00 = (-0.0) = 00.0 lbs lost. Current Weight: 190.7, 5BD
Day 01 = (-2.4) = 02.4 lbs lost. Current Weight: 188.3, CHEATED!!!!
Day 02 = (+2.8 = 00.4 lbs gained. Current Weight: 191.1, 5BD
Day 03 = (-3.9) = 03.5 lbs lost. Current Weight: 187.2, 5BD
Day 04 = (-2.7) = 06.2 lbs lost. Current Weight: 184.5, 5BD

Well so this is shaping up to be a pretty good week...I've been logging 5 bites, but to get these high losses the exact measurements have been 1/2 cup Special K Red berries w/barely enough milk to wet the flakes and I don't drink the extra milk and then for dinner I have 2 grapes (count as 1 bite), 2 broccoli flowerettes (count as 2 bites), 4 baby carrots (count as 2 bites), dipped in a spoonful of ranch and a spoonful of hummus. Also, my coffee is about 60 calories in the morning.

I'm trying hard to get that 11 pound gain off from my cruise and I'm gearing up for a big meal on Friday for my anniversary. I'm thinking now that I could stick with this meal plan on Monday through Thursday unless anything special comes up at work. Also, on Fridays I can eat the cereal or the veggies for lunch and then have 5 bites of Mexican for dinner if could develop some kind of self-control! Another alternative is to use the "Satan Diet" food guidelines, but only eat five bites and see how that goes. Here is the link for that:

I am going to check this diet out.. for me I LOVE veggies.. have been a daily eater since childhood.. that is why low carb diets work for me.. I wish you both much success in the eating how you love to eat.. I would starve honey if I ate special k.. but it sure tastes great!!!

I know I've been lost in cyber space for a few months. I see you had a great time at sea and I have to say you are still in the 180's so you are doing good, keep it up and you will be back in the 170's for sure.. I wish you the best of luck. I hope school is going well for you. I have a bit to do today but wanted to check in on the family here.. I feel like such a crappy supporter since I've been missing. I plan to update in my journal so all will know what's happening in my life here. Keep up the great work Snow and we will all be rejoicing with you every lb you lose.
